Bellani G.

Dr. Giacomo Bellani is Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine of the University of Trento (Italy) and Head of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit of Santa Chiara Hospital, also in Trento (Italy). Previously he worked as assistant and associate professor at the University of Milan Bicocca (where he also trained) and physician in the ICU of San Gerardo Hospital. In 2003-2004 he was research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, MA. In 2010 he acquired a PhD in Biomedical technology. Research has always been complementary to his clinical activities. His research is largely focused on ARDS and mechanical ventilation monitoring. From October 2015 to October 2018 he was chairman of the Acute Respiratory Failure Section of ESICM. He is co-PI of the LUNG SAFE study (main manuscript published in 2016 on JAMA). He authored about 249 indexed papers, 10 book chapters, editor of a volume on Mechanichal Ventilation, deposited five patents and delivered more than 180 invited talks. He was co-founder of ReviewerCredits.com and Dicotechnologies.
