I am an intensivist, clinician-researcher. I work as a staff physician in the Lausanne medico-surgical ICU, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois, Lausanne, Switzerland. I am senior lecturer and Privat-Docent at Lausanne University (Faculty for Biology and Medicine), Switzerland, since 2017. In research, I am interested interested in physiological, bench test, and clinical studies in the field of mechanical ventilation and ARDS. I have a particular interest for neutrally driven ventilation, respiratory drive and effort monitoring and patient-ventilator synchrony. I am the chair elect of the Acute Respiratory Failure section of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). I very much like teaching and I have an extended experience in teaching practical aspects of mechanical ventilation.In the field of teaching, I am course director for the ESICM mechanical ventilation masterclasses. .
