Prof. Dr. Federico Pea, MD, FISAC, is associate professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology at the Department of Medicine, University of Udine, Italy and in charge of antimicrobial chemotherapy at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology, Santa Maria della Misericordia University Hospital, Udine, Italy. His major research interests are clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of antimicrobials and application of therapeutic drug monitoring to optimize and personalize therapy in special patient populations, such as critically ill patients, hematological patients and elderly patients. He is coauthor (mainly as first or senior author) of more than 175 articles published in international peer reviewed journals (H index = 32; 3685 citations in Scopus checked on Dec 14th, 2019). He is member of the Executive Committee of the Italian Society of Anti-infective Therapy (SITA) and of the Italian Society of Chemotherapy (SIC). He is Section Editor for PK/PD of the Journal of Global Antimicrobial Resistance and member of the International Editorial Board of Clinical Pharmacokinetics, of Antibiotics and of Pharmaceutics.
