Mauro Oddo, MD, is Staff Physician and Head of the Clinical Research Unit at the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, CHUV-Lausanne University Hospital, and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He is specialist in Critical Care Medicine, Neurocritical Care and Internal Medicine.

Mauro Oddo is the immediate past Chair of the Neurointensive Care section, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and Associate Editor of the journal Annals of Intensive Care .

Prof. Oddo has published more than 140 peer-reviewed articles and numerous reviews and book chapters in the field of neurocritical care, neuromonitoring, brain metabolism, coma prognostication, therapeutic hypothermia. His research focus is on the regulation of cerebral energy metabolism in patients with acute brain injury and the relevance for therapy and management of neurocritical care patients, as well as coma prognostication using novel neuromonitoring techniques, such as cerebral microdialysis, brain oxygen, EEG. He is a regularly invited speaker at main international congresses of intensive care medicine, resuscitation and anesthesiology.
