Walid Habre is Senior Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia and is
Head of the Unit for Anaesthesiological Investigations. He became
recently full Professor at the University of Geneva.
anaesthesia training included a Fellowship in 1994 at Princess
Margaret Hospital and he accomplished part of his PhD at the
Institute for Child Health Research in Perth (Australia). His main
research activity is focused on the anaesthesia management of
children with bronchial hyperresponsiveness and has published
many papers on lung function and on heart-lung interactions.
He is deputy-editor of the European Journal of Anaesthesiology. He
recently initiated a clinical trial network study: “APRICOT”, with the
inclusion of more than 250 European centres and 31’000 children looking
at the incidence of perioperative severe adverse events.
