Darmon M.

Intensivist since 2002 with a nephrology background, Michael Darmon is currently Professor of Intensive Care Medicine in Saint-Etienne University Hospital. Member of the European society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) and Member of the French Intensive Care Society (FICS), MD is chairman of the committee in charge of the daily symposiums in this later.

MD is also Member of the Outcomerea study group (Prof. JF Timsit) and of the GRRR-OH study group (Groupe de recherche en reanimation respiratoire et Onco-hématologique, Prof. E Azoulay) and is member of the scientific committee of both these research groups.

MD is actively involved as main investigator in several clinical research projects leading to more than 150 publications and about 30 book chapters. His main research topics include acute kidney injury in the general ICU population, in critically-ill cancer patients, diagnostic tests performance, dysnatremia, and clinical epidemiology.
