Bellani G.

Giacomo Bellani is Associate Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care at the University of Milan-Bicocca, in Monza, Italy and he works in the general Intensive Care Unit of the San Gerardo Hospital. At the same institution, after MD graduation, he completed almost ten years ago, his postgraduate training program in Anesthesia and Critical Care. Clinical and preclinical research has always been complementary to his clinical activities. For this reason, he spent 18 months as a research fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, MA. In 2010 he acquired a PhD in Biomedical Technology. His research interest are mainly focused on monitoring of ARDS and mechanical ventilation, such as the use of Positron Emission Tomography to assess lung inflammation in patients with ARDS and monitoring of respiratory mechanics and work of breathing during spontaneous assisted breathing.
