Jacques Duranteau MD, PhD, is Professor of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Paris-Sud, Head of Surgical Intensive Care at the Kremlin Bicêtre Hospital and President of the Medical Committee of the University Hospitals of Paris-Sud. He carried out his studies in Paris to obtain his specialty in 1987, his scientific thesis on “Baro-reflexes and Local Circulations” in 1994 and received his title of University Professor in 2002.
He has several mandates in the context of university and hospital management, as well as the teaching of students and specialist doctors in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. His research activity was carried out within the INSERM U-942 Unit “BIOmarkers in CArdioNeuroVAScular diseases” on the following topics: Evaluation of tissue oxygenation and microcirculation in states of acute circulatory failure; pre-hospital and hospital care of haemorrhagic shock; Evaluation of techniques for cardio-vascular monitoring ; Care of patients with multiple injuries.
He has published more than 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is Chairman of the ESICM (European Society of Intensive Care Medicine) Research Committee and a member of SFAR (French Society of Anaesthesiology & Intensive Care) and SRLF (French Language Intensive Care Society).
